Like those jewelry designers, I too am authentic and ethical in my work and in my life. But there are those who ride on the tails of our billowy kaleidoscopic silk chiffon coats. For the life of me I cannot understand why one would want to mirror another person...why one would want to be a shell filled with other peoples thoughts and ideas? Why venture into a field that requires creativity if you don't have any?
Which brings me to a UK website named Keelia Designs. She has plagiarized her entire site with my descriptions, profile and even her jewelry. She also describes herself as an ethical designer.
Six jewelry people (my customers notice and email me), over the years, have also copied my entire profile. Ruby Lane removed one and another took it off on her own. I notified a third one who also took off the plagiarized profile and I helped her write a new one.
In RED are the plagiarized sentences, paragraphs. She was clever enough to switch up the college she attended, but made the mistake when copying and pasting my copy...of keeping the 'My'. And she switched up jewelry for jewellery (uk spelling).

Here is my profile on Ruby Lane since 2004:
My heavily textural sterling silver work is hand fabricated from raw silver and then cast into limited edition pieces and signed on the back.
It is a rare woman that didn't make a piece of jewelry when she was a girl, so I will refrain from boring you with those details. However, customers have asked for some background. My college degrees are in apparel design, textiles and business. I attended Chamberlayne college in Boston and graduated from Marymount college in Virginia. I first sold my jewelry at the Eastern Market in D.C. in the early 80's...headed to California soon after and obtained my first wholesale accounts in San Francisco. Returned to Baltimore where I live with my son, three rescue dogs and two rescue cats in a home plastered with art by many artists, with an emphasis on Sarah Kiser's work.
At this time I am completely maxed out and am not accepting new wholesale accounts or special orders.
I am not a novice beader. I am a silversmith and jewelry designer and have created jewelry professionally all of my adult life...it is my occupation, my joy, my sole income...I live and breathe and dream it.
I come by my designs honestly...through hard work and creative skill. Creativity builds upon creativity...and the possibilities are endless. I have shapes and forms and colors dancing in my head and will never be able to get to them all in this lifetime!! And I always strive for myself and for my valued customers to keep at least one step ahead.
My jewelry is made expressly for the discerning who prefer authentic, expertly crafted everlasting adornments. They are not meant to be fleeting trends...but rather to bespeak the beauty....spirit and individual style of the wearer.
Thank you for your time and enjoy your visit!!!
My jewelry and colorful descriptions, intended to lighten the heart and bring a smile to your face, are copyrighted. Many of my pieces have copyrights dating back to 1986 (with updated copyrights). Please respect my desire to keep my designs fresh and uniquely my own.
Here is part of my profile on ebay since 2001:
A self-taught metalsmith/designer, I have been designing jewelry full-time professionally for over 25 years. My designs are my own unique vision. Most come to fruition by sheer luck and even more often by mistake and trial and error. They are not found in beading classes or books (they weren't several years ago anyway) and I have not given permission for them to be copied.
Here is her profile since 2009:
A few words from me the Designer! It is a rare woman that didn't make a piece of jewellery when she was a girl, so I will refrain from boring you with those details. My attended Sheffield Hallam Univesity where I gained my Silversmithing and Metalwork qualifications.

Her descriptions too are plagiarised from my auctions and listings. This is a person who believes in the ethical treatment of the planet, which I too strongly believe in and advocate. So it saddens me, but absolutely doesn't surprise me, to see someone who appears upstanding to turnaround and steal like a common thief.
I am always updating my gemstone bejeweled hoops and thus, in my descriptions I have written:
A unique approach to my signature bejeweled hoops. I am forever striving to bring my clients fresh designs, even if just tweeking a small detail.
She wrote:
A unique approach to the hoop! I am forever trying to bring my customers new styles, even if it's just tweeking a small detail in a design.
I could go on and on!A unique approach to the Hoop! I am forever trying to bring my customers new styles, even if it's just tweeking a small detail in a design. Impossibly lightweight!!
Here is why I care: I have always been an individualist and thrive on it. My clients are my clients BECAUSE they like my, at one time, unusual and unique jewelry and site.
I sit at my workbench and think jewelry up as I go along. My workbench is covered in gemstones and other elements...I need everything to be in view...it is the only way I can create. My profile and my descriptions are what they are. They are not rough drafted, they aren't grammatically correct all the time, they aren't necessarily well thought out....I just write what I am thinking at the time. So how would it be that someone else has the same copy, almost word for word.
My work is absolutely my life, my heart so it is disheartening to find my style, my designs, my everything on someone else's site. We have become such a docile people...we all think it is ok because none of us has to actually face the other. We have lost our civility, our compassion and our authenticity.
It is truly ashame!

Wow that is terrible!!! However, I think it is fantastic that your customers are so loyal to you that they would inform you of the copys!! Hopefully one day I will be able to build up such a client base =P
